Lazy Sunday chillout Part 1

just came back fr a one night cruise trip with some colleagues (will uppload some pics fr another phone soon). really am dead beat coz didnt sleep well on board and only slept a mere meagre 2hrs.... supposely meet one friend to interview him over breakfast but i overslept when i got back to take a 2hr nap. anyway, the moment i got up, i've got to rush for a lunch appt with some classmates, tric, jack, shane and david. plus it was david's post-bday celeb today so yeah....

headed over to irish bar at circular as recommended by tricia. nv been there before so was quite excited since i was hungry actually =x

fish & chips

irish stewBangers and chips

it was an eye-opener for me since i've never been to and irish bar/restaurant/bistro to dine before. the irish stew is really nice but not for those who dislike lamb meat but its really good especially when you combine it with the whip potato that comes with it with the stew sauce.

the bangers; i thought it was "atas" sausage" but i was wrong!! lol~ its like some pork but minced in a way that when u bite it, the banger taste "separates" in your mouth and so chewy that i fell in love with it instantaneously! :) the chips are those big types which i tried before at my friend's western store at Kim Tian which so far, this is the 2nd place i tried before, big fat ones like wedges... nice! the fish is nice and i simply love it here coz its so cosy, service is exceptionally hospitable and i give this place a thumbs thumbs up! will definitely come back with other friends.

we had some beer with the food after and chatted abit before heading over to Clarke Quay for desserts. OOPS! =X

food for thought 2

"God did not promise days without pain; laughter without sorrow; sun without rain - But He did promise strength for the day, comfort for the tears, and light for the way."

i was surfing for some guitar chords when i came across this quote on a person's siggy. i think it brings such heartwarming touch that you will just feel relieve that all's well. Bad things do happen to good people but yet, do we just sulk, play a pity-party game or worse, curse and swear?

i was having a meeting yest with the rest of the CGCs and i think i come to realize that Hanxian is really an amazing person inasmuch most of the time we don't see the things he goes through and i really wish that i had the eyes of love to see all he's going through. people is our source of solution and equally the source of problems. but much said, how we can be the balancing beam?

i think we gotta really either have a BIG heart, or others call it, a heart of gold. experts says it takes a lifetime to study human and even when one reaches the pinnacle of his/her study about human behaviour, a whole new set of standards, paradigm shifts will simply crush that set of theology or research done.

i think we can learn through a beautiful theolgy of a great Man. to forgive 7 times and not just that but 70 times 70 times. this equates to an eye-popping 490times. there's really no formula or strategy that can deemed "best" yet this above choice of the heart will definitely bring much to a person's life.

yest, a sensitive was posed before me and i pondered for a sec if i should answer yet i knew I had gained victory which warrants me more than glad to answer. i walked out of my circumstance because of 2 important decisions i made: 1st, i forgave and bless; 2nd, i made a firm decision to not be 小心眼 (narrow-minded). the latter was probably the hardest to deal with but my brother has consistently reminded me in this small yet so vital point to me.

the me in late Apr, the me in mid Jul and the me in 13th Aug. I do really wonder these 3 different stages of life experiences i was in; what's the difference(s)?

i'll give the answer of 13th Aug to you all; undoubtingly exasperatingly grateful. :)

food for thought

amidst work, i happened to read a good friend's blog entry. it was an entry that i really least expect it. it seems that i'm not fighting the battle alone but having comrades with me.

i have always wondered that whether life is simply about me and myself and things i want to do and achieve. i used to believe that if i want to spend my rest of life with the woman i loved, friends aren't that important after all. it took a real hard knock on my head and a real bad stab into my heart; where i found the true meaning that "we'll leave this world with nothing but the relationships we built here on earth."

yes, indeed i've lost much yet, i dare say that i've gained possibly equally much. my life turned around for a greater purpose and walking right on track and heading to the right direction with true friends that really pick you up and gather around you when you need them.

In life, the decisions we make are indeed important because you don't want to regret it esp when its late in a particular stage of life and make a reroute. I simply love the words that "iron sharpens iron" because thats how life should progress, esp the people you choose to be around. i'll be blogging on two important aspects of life about leadership and character this wk taught by Dr Bernard.

lastly, i thank god for good people around once again, i find heartwarming and a bliss to know that i've good people rallying behind me and giving me the much-needed "reinforcements" and "firepower" to perservere! :)

RADIATE YEAH!~
"life progress in levels but arrive in stages"

Birthdays!

another late entry meant for 2 wks back! (this was my last lesson before exam)

it was a rush affair for me coz we're supposed to celebrate jack's bday 1 wk earlier but i wasnt in class the prev time. anyway, this proved be more rewarding although we're late but, late better than nothing =X

the class celebrated 3 of these babies birthday and it was so funny coz there was the hello kitty together! i'm really awed by the cohesiveness of the class coz Class B actually waited for us to finish class before they came over, this module, Class B's teacher was "faster" than ours. anyway that aside, guess it was a joyous occasion. i dun fancy bdays but others' bdays are always impt to me coz it meant alot. i think sometimes it takes the lost of someone to make us treasure what's still around us. gotta learn to be more detail in my life and not be complacent!

anyway, happt birthday to you 3 babies! wish you guys a wonderful year ahead, lets cont to forge ahead for a beautiful tomorrow and may all your dreams, endeavours come to pass in this coming year ahead! be blessed~

Crepes - Out of the Pan

had a lunch appt with a VIP on a friday. (sorry another late blog entry).
it was my 1st trip to Out of the Pan at Raffles City. i have always love to come here to walk about and chill around yet surprisingly, i've never walked into this restaurant right next to the escalator at B1. i guess i didnt really fancy crepes and worse, didnt even know what they offered on its menu, lol~

anyway, this place really impressed me and i can say, it blew me away with their menu. seldom i'm blown away by my food and yet, i simply love the way the ingredients, sauce complemented the crepes. it always appear to me how crepes would feel one's stomach but yet, they proved me so wrong!!

i had the mushroom and ham crepe and my VIP had something i don't know =X but anyway, that's not important... :p i finished my crepes obediently and even felt that the greens on my plate was not to be wasted, i even brought mtyself to finish the greens lol~ the meal was so satisfying, i had to plan the next trip there @_@

had a great and fulfilling lunch added with wise advice from a person i really respected only after just a couple of meetups. i'm looking forward to my next visit here already! ;p

1 Caramel Pastisserie

i was as usual reading the foodie blogs of my favourite Camembaru and IronLadyChef. they recommended this refined Pastisserie at 1 Handy Road. it was really near and thanks to my iphone, the googlemaps helped to find my way easily there! :p

anyway, i find the cakes there really interesting and pretty. it feels a totally new fusion for its cakes and pastries there and the ambience is simply awesome coz of its refined and subtle decor. i love how they place their products in display and it feels simply cosy and attractive. you'll also find they offer pastas and wining for your dining pleasures. i was there during lunchtime and they seem to be in the midst of putting some finishing touches to there decor. i also love how they pay certain details to make one's dining a fulfilling one.

in the areas of tasting, i find a lil' interesting in the taste of its cake. i would definitely go back to give it another try before i complete my reviews of its cakes. :)
pls do give this place a try if you're looking for ambience, chillouts and a place to sit back and enjoying companionship with your friends. simply love the place.

HoneyComb

Canele Pastisserie

jupitar

NY cheesecake

blackforest

strawberry shortcake

this is a late late post. bloggers is having some problems which i'm trying to find an email add to email to blogger but simply cant find it.

anyway, this was a 2wk ago visit to Canele at its Paragon outlet. met up some old friends for a catch up. in the end, i agreed to an impromptu short vacation which proved to be timely though i wasn't really keen to begin with. anyway, a much needed break after such a long long time where my last trip was like almost 4yrs back... man, i realize i've been working for a good 5yrs+ already.

anyway, this cakes are awesome and you really gotta try them. apparently, i knew it was good given its renown name but a lil' sceptical after having a rather disappointing cake at 1 Caramel Pastiessrie. anyway, pls do try them and i'm yearning to go back to Canele to try their other cakes and pastas. their macaroons are really famous but for me, i'll stick to their lovely cakes as the macaroons are a lil' too sweet for me. the cakes are smooth and with its valrhona gourment choc ingredients, it proves to be heavenly yet not heavy on your pockets! :)
